ANKOU, KING OF THE DEAD

Synopsis

Brittany, France.
1562 A.D.
Dusk envelops the village of Morlaix as the first frigid sea-wind of winter slices through the lingering warmth of autumn. From the black soil of harvested fields, a fog rises and drifts to the cemetery at the village center.

This is a non-fiction piece, and is marked by my writing in narrative form, second-person, present tense.

Reviews

No reviews of this piece about the Brittany version of the Grim Reaper who collects souls on All Hallow's Eve ever appeared.

Reviews

No reviews. This was my first published story thanks to the mentoring of Mort Castle. Doorways magazine illustrated the tale as shown to the right. The artist is Andy Robinson.

Shown below is the rough draft.
