Author's Official Biography

R. B. PAYNE became serious about writing as a member of the Dark Delicacies Writing Group in Burbank, California about a decade ago although his earliest story can be carbon-dated to his seventh year on the planet. His story Eddie G. at the Gates of Hell was well-received in the award-winning and Stoker-nominated Midnight Walk anthology way back then.  About 25 stories later, (he is admittedly a slow writer), his work has appeared in a multitude of magazines and anthologies including 18 Wheels of Horror, Madhouse, All-American Horror of the 21st Century, Monk Punk, and the original Chiral Mad volume.

He is an active member of the Horror Writers Association (HWA) and soon... the Science Fiction Writers Association (SFWA). He loves dark speculative fiction and is very near to finishing that novel he started some years ago. Meanwhile, the tales Sargassum,  Paddlejumpers, and >>>\last of the bark-men} will see print in the near future.

A nomad by choice, R. B. Payne currently lives in Paris, France, with his wife, dog, and cat. He can be found frequently at the local brasserie where wine and conversation impede the writing process but provide an endless source of story ideas. Online, he is at www.rbpayne.com.
